Observe your thoughts

If you want to truly Break the Habit of being yourself, you have to first observe your thoughts.

Dr. Joe Dispenza suggests we write down the thoughts that we want to change. Make a list (in writing) of all the things that you want to get rid of.

Those thoughts that don’t belong in your future. The thoughts that don’t belong to the new version of you.

Thoughts like:

  • Jealousy
  • Envy
  • Hate
  • Judgement
  • Gossip
  • Insecurity
  • Doubt
  • Worry
  • etc

When you do this, and become aware of your thoughts, those thoughts immediately lose their power over you.
Now when you feel these emotions, you can catch yourself and change the thought.

For Every minute of the negative emotion, you want to do a minute or more of a positive thought and emotion.

For instance, If you have a neighbor, and that neighbor pushes certain emotional buttons for you. Let’s say it’s anger.

Then you want to realize that your body gets a rush of energy from chemicals (produced by the brain), when you interact with that neighbor.

So you want to be aware of that and tell the subconscious mind that you are not gonna feed it that chemical.
You should instead, think of a best case scenario of that neighbor.
You want to think of you two getting along perfectly and even liking each other. – That’s it.

Or you want to just think of being happy in general.

Eventually, there will be a breakthrough. Either, the neighbor and you will begin to get along, or something will happen to where the neighbor stops crossing your path.

Now at this time you may think you have a handle on things. But just know, these thought WILL creep back up. You will be doing something else and the thought of the neighbor will pop back up and you will say to yourself “I really can’t stand that guy”, “he’s so fake”, etc.

This is when you must catch yourself, and realize that this is simply the body and subconscious mind looking for its fix. It’s looking for those chemicals, that rush.

And you have to be able to think greater than you feel and tell your subconscious, “nope, I’m not feeding you that” and think of the neighbor again, in the way you had before – the perfect situation

Understand that if you can’t think greater than you feel, you will be doomed to remain in your current reality.

Your personality creates your personal reality.
